I clearly have nothing important to do.

I know everyone discovered googlisms ages ago but I still get a kick out of it…

eileen is no cinderella either
eileen is very understated and matter of fact about her astonishing record of achievment
eileen is a housewife turned spy
eileen is a poem
eileen is constantly on a mission to get things done (HA)
eileen is still so shocked

My full name is not nearly so interesting, except that it is somehow connected to my dorm room number in Bigelow.

I have been watching a lot of Project Runway, by the way. I forgot what cable is like.

Small Events

Dogs,Miscellaneous | Wednesday 30 August 2006 7:43 pm

I’m finally fulfilling a longstanding (well, 3-year) dream of mine and getting new glasses. I’m not really sure, but I think these are the ones I picked out. If those aren’t them, well, they’re pretty similar.

The mole on my left hand is gone. All that’s in its place is a cauterized divet. Is that what you’d call it? Actually it’s covered by a bandaid so you can’t really tell yet.

And finally, Boris got a haircut but I still love him:

Argh!

My Macbooks’ battery has suddenly decreased from 4 hours every time I charge it to 2.5. I DON’T understand.

Dogs,Miscellaneous | Monday 28 August 2006 9:08 pm

Well, not much is new here. I sleep, play with the dog, run errands, and see the occasional other person. Today I bought travel space bags and outlet adapters. They only had them in packs so now I’m not only set for Europe, I’m also prepared should I just drop down to Africa or over to Japan. Boris is currently playing fetch with himself. You’d think it’s not possible, but you’d be wrong. He drops the Kong ball, watches it bounce and roll till it stops, and then rushes to pick it up. Then it starts all over again. It’s genius. My life is not quite as entertaining. Today I watched the Emmys rerun on Bravo. I ate lunch with Rebecca W so that was nice but it also promises to be my only same-generation interaction for a while. Ho-hum.

Boris and Otto Rule #2

Dogs | Saturday 26 August 2006 10:43 pm

Otto must step in his water bowl as often as possible, which sometimes necessitates simply walking through it, and sometimes putting one foot in as he drinks. Sometimes this is followed by prolonged scratching of the floor.

Boris and Otto Rule #1

Dogs | Saturday 26 August 2006 10:29 am

If Otto has a chew toy he is happy with, Boris must coopt it. Including Otto’s collar.

(Should I stop talking about dogs?)

I know it doesn’t really matter, but

Here, in further explanation of a post long ago, is a perfect example:

“You just don’t go to the stores, you go to the mall.”
(from the NYT article on the CW)

It drives me NUTS.

They’re so lucky to have each other.

(In case you can’t tell, that’s a neck grip he has on him.)

It’s hard to capture the level of activity here, but very little time passed between the first picture and this one. Like, maybe five seconds.

Also, I have a visa.

I just read this headline: Astronomers in a Quandary Over Pluto’s Status

on the New York Times webpage and somehow jumped to this intro:
Another antiwar underdog is trying to become a giant-killer, against Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

and was perversely amused. I do things like this so much that I wonder whether I’m slightly dyslexic or if my sense of humor just gets the better of me.

Poor Pluto. He’s so haywire.

I left my toothbrush in Kansas City.

That’s really only the title because I think it sounds like a twisted country song. I listened to some country music today on the radio when I was looking for weather reports or a break from my iPod. I’m now in Dallas, and my teacher friend has gone to bed, since he has this “job” thing he does every day.

He has cable!
