Couch choices
Am going to Conforama and But on Monday to look at couches and these are the ones I’ve found online:
I can’t decide if it’s cute or ugly. I need a second opinion. What do you think?
Otherwise there’s this.
The title: "I confess I do not believe in time. I like to fold my magic carpet, after use, in such a way as to superimpose one part of the pattern upon another. Let visitors trip." -Vladimir Nabokov, Speak, Memory
About me: I moved to France in 2006 as an English language assistant in Lorraine, stayed in 2007 as a lectrice in Champagne, went home to do my masters degree at UT Austin, and then came back in 2009 as a maitre de langue in Poitou-Charentes. I currently live in Poitiers, teach at an engineering school, and am preparing for the CAFEP in 2011.

For anyone who's searching for experiences with French visas/cartes de séjour, applying to be a lecteur/maître de langue/assistant, moving to France, etc., these are the most useful categories. I'm not a very organized blogger though, so some of these will rate a 10 on usefulness and most will rate about a 3.
France planning in general:
Includes pretty much everything below
Assistantship
Being/becoming a lecteur/mdl
Getting visas and CDSs
The CAFEP:
Am just starting this process now, and it might all fall through, but I thought it might be interesting to highlight it anyway.
Arrivals and Departures:
Includes graduating from Macalester and every arrival/departure I've had in France.

I kind of really love that first one! I do tend to like funkier things (so you know), but I find it really cute. Of course, seeing it in person might give you a better idea on whether you like it or not.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I think I’ll need some color in the room. Am leaning toward that one too. It’s cheaper but also smaller. Mostly I want to at least sit on it before paying for it!
Yes, if it’s hard as a rock, it won’t seem as cute. Who knows, you might even find something you like even more when you go to the stores? But of those two, I vote for the first one if it ends up being comfortable.
I might be too late, but my vote goes for the colored one too!
